Approach

  • Customized = I will go find out applicable information, methods, and resources to meet your specific needs and situation. I won’t be following a set script.
  • Secular and evidence-oriented = if faith in an active higher power strongly guides your everyday activities we may not have much in common
  • Measurement-based, exploratory, curious = I will encourage you to track what you do, or think, or feel, or observe, or how you spend your time
  • Direct = you’re ready to investigate yourself: how you show up, your thoughts, beliefs, actions, habits, words, impacts
  • Time-bound and goal-oriented = let’s commit to exploring a specific area for a fixed time and see real progress
  • Creating a community = I’m not sure what this looks like yet but I’d like to bring clients together to explore common interests and build a network

Self-authorized and motivated = I’m spending my life energy with you, whether paid or not; if you don’t have time or energy to devote for your own sake, I won’t work with you

Rates could reflect:

  • The value to you of the benefits desired.
  • The total amount of time and effort required to research, prepare, meet, debrief, summarize, communicate, etc.
  • I only have capacity to take on a limited number of clients, including some pro bono or alternative payment arrangements.

Satisfaction: if at any time you are not fully satisfied with my services, let me know. If there’s something that works for both of us to adjust then let’s do it. At your request I’ll offer to refund the equivalent value of the last session and I’ll release/refund any future commitments (minus my incurred costs) and we can amicably part ways.

Disclaimer

I’m not a financial, legal, mental or physical health, technical, accounting, or investment professional, or otherwise formally qualified to provide specialist advice (other than in my professional discipline of project management). I have some coaching education but I’m not a certified coach.

If you have any urgent concerns, I highly recommend you seek counsel through the Distress Centre, an acute care health provider, legal aid, debt counsellor, or other appropriate (and often free) specialists.

Take what I give you as food for thought, and **consult with appropriate professionals before making your own decision** about what might be best for your situation.

I may choose not to work with you on a specific topic, or at all, or to terminate any coaching session or agreement if I feel the topic necessitates specialist knowledge or skills, or simply because I don’t think it’s a good match.

So you want to get started?

Read some of my Institute stuff including blog posts to get a feel for how I think. If that resonates with you, then send me an email mailto:thinkitation@gmail.com?subject=Coaching_Inquiry .

Tell me about what you’d like to explore and how you’d like to proceed (remember the self-authorized and motivated part?)
